Echelon Las Vegas Resort by Boyd Gaming this week unveiled its $4.8 billion 87 acres multiuse mega resort destination. Echelon will have five Las Vegas NV hotels that will be built on the imploded Stardust Las Vegas land.

The media hoopla ground breaking had several hundred guests, Boyd executives and joint venture partners, inside a tent on site, watched as a shattered sheet of dark glass concealed a 1,000 pound cornerstone on Echelon real estate.

The resort buildout is expected to take three years with a 2010 opening.

Echelon Las Vegas retail project plans by General Growth Properties Inc. and Las Vegas Boyd Gaming Corp. The 300,000 square foot, $500 million, retail plans will be part of the $4 billion, Echelon real estate. The implosion of the Stardust Casino to make way for the Las Vegas mega resort several months ago. This partnership was announced at the ICSC annual spring meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. The joint venture plans are for General Growth to contribute $100 million and Boyd to offer the real estate and above air rights for development.

Boyd Gaming has developed a fantastic international team and brand for the Echelon Resort. These operators include Shangri-La Hotels, the leading luxury hotel brand in Asia; Morgans Hotel Group, which is developing the Mondrian and Delano hotels in a joint venture with Boyd Gaming; and AEG Live, and entertainment producer.

Stardust Las Vegas real estate set for mid March implosion to make way for the luxury resort Echelon Place Las Vegas. The Stardust hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada has had most of its windows and internal workings removed. Now you can see right through the property.

Hotel implosion is scheduled to take place in the middle of March sometime during the early morning. The Stardust was a 1,500-room casino, 48-year-old property located on the Las Vegas Strip. Boyd Gaming isn’t letting the public know the exact time for crowd control purposes.

Echelon Place Las Vegas real estate will be an 80-acre development. Echelon Place real estate total development expenditure is a $4-billion complex of casinos, hotels, shopping and entertainment venues that is scheduled to open in 2010. The Las Vegas resort plan includes four hotels with 5,300 rooms, a 140,000-sf casino, a shopping promenade, theaters, convention space and spas.

Echelon Place Las Vegas a $4 billion mixed-use resort on the 63-acre Las Vegas land currently occupied by Stardust Hotel real estate. The mega resort will include 1 million square feet of Las Vegas convention and meeting space, 5,300 hotel rooms, 140,000-square-foot casino and 350,000 square feet of retail stores. It is expected to take four years to develop this massive Las Vegas commercial real estate endeavor.

Echelon Place Las Vegas by Boyd will only be second in single hospitality industry project to the $7 billion Project City Center by MGM Mirage.

In 2005 Boyd Gaming started planning the Las Vegas commercial project for the Stardust real estate after a strategy started in 1998 of diversifying by market segments and geographically.
