The Plaza Las Vegas $5 billion resort received preliminary round of approval from the Clark County Planning Commission this week approving the development of the commercial real estate in Las Vegas, NV.
Believe it or not in Las Vegas casino news,The Plaza is expected to be the the Strip’s largest casino on the 34.5 acres of land, previous site of the New Frontier, and adjacent to Trump Tower Las Vegas NV, hotel. The Wynn Resort has a 110,000 square foot Strip casino, Bellagio 160,000 square foot casino and The Plaza topping the list at 175,900 square foot gaming area.

The luxury condo hotel project is expected to cost $6 billion at completion. The mega resort will include a casino and business center. The 1.5 million square foot development is expected to include a 3,500-room ultra-luxury condominiums, hotel, restaurants, convention space and retail shops. Ground break for the project is expected in 2008 and have it completed some time in 2012.
The hotel’s 16 story Atrium Tower was brought down using 1,040 pounds of explosives placed in 6,200 locations throughout the building reducing it to pile of glass, steel and concrete in 18 seconds.
New Frontier Las Vegas says goodbye to Cold beer and Hot Girls as the hotel doors close for the last and final time. Not only is Gilley’s bar, host of cold beer and dirty girls, history but the 65 year old casino, too.

The New Frontier casino closed its doors this morning at 12:01 a.m today.
There were thousands of fans on the Las Vegas land before the final closing of business.
A loud alarm sounded at 12:01 a.m. signaling the Frontier’s closure.
The New FrontierLas Vegas hotel has been sold for more than $1.2 billion. A $100 million deposit on the real estate deal was received earlier this week.

El Ad is the buyer of the 984 room New Frontier. It is expected to be demolished and in place a replica of the Plaza Hotel from New York on the Las Vegas Strip.
El Ad is an Israeli owned real estate group. This 36 acres of land transaction is the most expensive large site transaction on the Strip.
