Las Vegas Fashion Show mall planned sale to save real estate investment trust from financial woes this week. General Growth Properties is the owner of three malls on the Strip including Shoppes at Palazzo, Grand Canal Shoppes and Fashion Show.
Great Mall of Las Vegas with Las Vegas condos, 1.6 million-square-foot, planned for the Centennial Hills area in northwest Las Vegas is designed as a “hybrid” mall with both outdoor and indoor retail components, architect Howard Perlman said.
The indoor portion is three stories, with anchor tenants at each end and three levels of shops, all in an air-conditioned environment for hard-core shoppers who easily spend eight hours in a mall, he said.
The outdoor “lifestyle” component is similar to The District at Green Valley Ranch, developed by American Nevada Co., Perlman said. It will have a mix of entertainment and retail with 900 Las Vegas condominium units on top. Maximum height for the two Las Vegas condo towers is 200 feet.
