Maglev TrainMagLev train received funding to travel from Disneyland to Las Vegas.  The magnetic levitating train will travel in speeds from 180 mph average to 310 mph.  The news that President Bush signed a transportation bill worth $45 million to continue America’s fastest train initiative happened earlier this month.  This will help shuttle more visitors to Las Vegas and help the Nevada economy.

Las Vegas Convention Center $890M Expansion And Renovation Makeover

Las Vegas Convention CenterLas Vegas Convention Center will have an expansion and renovation worth $890 million. There will be an increase of real estate and convention space equaling 600,000 square feet to make the total space of 3.8 million square feet. Work should start next year with a completion date of 2010.

Changes will include modern interior design, renovated exterior and a naturally lit lobby. The increase in space will include 67% more food service, 37% of meeting space and a 78% increase in restaurant space. Both a Clark County Fire Station and a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Substation will be included in the expansion.

Las Vegas Real Estate Visitors In October Was 3.38 Million Set Record

Las Vegas EconomyLas Vegas real estate visitors for October was 3.38 million. This set records for Las Vegas and Southern Nevada for the month and the year.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authority released numbers Tuesday about visitor volume represented a 2.5 percent increase from last October, and a 1.1 percent increase year-to-year. Senior research analyst, John Piet, said the numbers keep to surpass last year’s record and hit 38.7 million.

Las Vegas Real Estate April Visitor Numbers Up Again

Las Vegas Real Estate April Visitor Numbers Up Again.

Las Vegas GamglingOnce again the latest numbers from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors’ Authority paint a happy picture of the tourist economy. Las Vegas counted 3.3 million visitors in April, a 0.3 percent jump from April, 2005.

The Las Vegas hotel room inventory fell slightly between this year and last but room rates averaged $123.48 a night, a hefty 15.1 percent increase from the previous year.

Las Vegas convention attendance was the main boost for April with nearly 30,000 additional visitors making their way to Las Vegas despite a slight fall in the number of conventions that were held in the city.

The most impressive number is the 9.1 percent jump in economic impact. Las Vegas visitors created an additional $60 million in economic activity over April 2005. The year to date figure for economic impact is $3.6 billion, a healthy 7.9 percent jump from this time last year.
