McCarran Airport Las Vegas, Nevada passenger traffic 7 percent decline in June, 2008. The nation’s current weakened economy puts a damper on the leisure travel industry to Las Vegas residential real estate.
The amount of departures and arrivals at McCarran International were approximately 3.9 million. Year to date totals for passenger traffic through June, 2008 was 22.9 million.

MagLev train received funding to travel from Disneyland to Las Vegas. The magnetic levitating train will travel in speeds from 180 mph average to 310 mph. The news that President Bush signed a transportation bill worth $45 million to continue America’s fastest train initiative happened earlier this month. This will help shuttle more visitors to Las Vegas and help the Nevada economy.

Las Vegas visitor totals show declines for occupancy, rates and traffic for March. Results released last week show the total amount of visitors to Las Vegas was 3.4 million, or a decline of one percent. With everything in Las Vegas, Nevada rising, including the once 99 cents shrimp cocktail, Las Vegas hotel owner’s lowered their nightly rates.
Hotel rooms in Las Vegas occupancy fell to 92 percent, a two percent decline. This brought the average hotel room rate to $135 per night. One influencer to the occupancy rate is the addition of 4,000 hotel rooms including Palms Place, Signature MGM Grand and Trump Tower Las Vegas NV hotel.

McCarran Airport Las Vegas new passenger 2007 record of 47.7 million. This is an increase of 3.1 percent from 2006, but the lowest increase for five years.
The previous 2006 annual traffic record was 46.2 million of departures and arrivals from McCarran International Airport.

McCarran Airport Las Vegas, Nevada had a 2.4 percent increase of departures and arrivals from September 2006. The previous months showed passenger traffic on a record pace from month to month with a 5 percent increase from 2006 in Las Vegas real estate.
With no new luxury resorts opening and US Airways slowdown in their own traffic slowed growth, but there was still a record pace for air travel growth in Southern Nevada.
