UFC 70 NATIONS COLLIDE Gonzaga First Round Main Event UFC Winner

UFC 70 NATIONS COLLIDEUFC 70 Ultimate Fighting Championship NATIONS COLLIDE had Gabriel Gonzaga drop Mirko Cro Crop, with a head kick knocking him out in the Octagon at the main event of the Las Vegas real estate based organization for the UFC 70 Nations Collide in Manchester, England, on Saturday.

Cro Cop was defeated via knockout at a Pride Fighting event on April 25, 2004, when Kevin Randleman did it in 1:57 of Round 1. Gonzaga, 27, improved to 8-1 overall (4-0 UFC) with the victory. Cro Cop dropped to 22-5-2 overall (1-1 UFC).

Lutter both disappointed mma fans in Las Vegas, Nevada real estate by being overweight at the weigh-ins and his second round submission to “The Spider” with 3-0 and 18-4 overall.

Silva thinks his jiu-jitsu skills can beat anyone in his weight class. Chris Leben and Rich Franklin UFC fights were both stopped in the first rounds. This fight in the Mandalay Bay Octagon was no easy match against Travis Lutter.

Lutter wanted an early takedown in this non-title UFC match but with Silva’s swift feet he made his moves effortlessly. A flying knee happened moments later with Lutter blocking, who got the takedown of the Brazilian. This was the first time in his Ultimate Fighting Championship time that Silva fought off the attack and stood back up. The mighty Texan then pulled him down again. Silva then fought back from the bottom. One minute remaining, Lutter took side control and a full mount. Silva took the beating by Lutter and regained his strength standing back up. The crowd’s cheers were loud.

The second round Lutter opened with a takedown and Silva kicked to the head from the mat. Silva used a triangle choke on the hurt Lutter. The Ultimate Fighting Champion used both hands to pound away at Lutter. At the 2:11 mark Travis had to tap out.

UFC 67 ALL OR NOTHING Ultimate Fighting Championship Final Weigh Ins

Travis Lutter, the TUF 4 winner, despite two weigh in tries, will not be challenging UFC Anderson Silva’s Middleweight Championship title tonight in the Octagon after his final weight of 186.5 pounds, a pound and a half over the 185-pound limit. Today’s UFC 67 Ultimate Fighting Championship main title match will now be a three round non-title event. Lutter’s first attempt was 187 pounds and two hours later he was only a half-pound lighter. Lutter was fined 10 percent of his purse by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. 5 percent penalty goes to Anderson Silva and 5 percent to the NSAC.
