Las Vegas NASCAR weekend unveils Elvis Presley and Dale Earnhardt Sr. race car. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway will showcase this Viva Las Vegas legendary pairing this weekend.
The race car at NASCAR weekend will have an image of Earnhardt’s No. 3 on th sides with Elvis’ picture on the hood and be on display for fans to admire. NASCAR Jeremy Mayfield will return to NASCAR competition for the first time since being fired last month by Nextel Cup team owner Ray Evernham.
Smith’s Las Vegas 350-kilometer NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race Sept. 23 will see Mayfield, who lost his Evernham Motorsports Nextel Cup ride, compete on the newly upgraded 1.5 mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway real estate.
Jeremy Mayfield will be driving No. 15 Chevrolet truck in the Las Vegas NASCAR race, confirmed by Billy Balley, which Balley’s team had won previously with Shane Hmiel.
Balley said he also plans for Mayfield to drive the truck at a race in Atlanta, Phoenix and the Miami finale. Las Vegas native NASCAR Kyle Busch will drive the truck Saturday in Loudon, N.H., trying to win his second race in four starts with the team this year.

Kyle Busch pulls ahead at saturday night’s Sharpie 500. It was supposed to be the race that put Kurt Busch, ultra fast in both practice and qualifying, back in contention for the Chase of the Nextel Cup.
Instead, it was brother Kyle’s night to further solidify his spot in NASCAR’s postseason party while Kurt was mathematically eliminated from the dance.
After a runner-up finish to race winner Matt Kenseth, Las Vegas Kyle Busch gained two spots in the championship standings, climbing to fourth. He said it was the culmination of a plan that finally came together.

Reality Racing, Inc. announces Reality Racing. Lee F. Schaefer announced today that Reality Racing, Inc. is in the process of finalizing dates and locations for a national contestant search to find amateur drivers to participate in their new TV show, Reality Racing - The Rookie Challenge. The search is tentatively scheduled to be in both Atlanta and Las Vegas during the early part of November. Exact times, dates and locations will be posted on the website as soon as they are available.
Reality Racing - The Rookie Challenge will combine two of the most popular on-air entertainment concepts — stock car racing and reality television — to create an unmatched, action-packed 13-week TV series scheduled to air in early 2007. The Rookie Challenge winner will receive national exposure, a cash award, a gold championship ring and the opportunity to drive professionally in a NASCAR-sanctioned race.

NASCAR Nextel Cup champion Kurt Busch, a Las Vegas native, first Nextel Cup driver on the repaved 1.5-mile tri-oval at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Tuesday. The new surface is part of a $30 million renovation.
When Las Vegas Motor Speedway was being built in 1995, Kurt Busch would sneak a peek at the construction. But he was never invited inside for a tour, let alone one with red-carpet treatment.
Ten years later, the 28-year-old Nextel Cup star was invited back as the featured guest Tuesday when the speedway officially unveiled its repaved 1.5-mile tri-oval. the centerpiece of the speedway’s $30 million makeover.
