CineVegas 2008 Film Festival Begins At Palms Las Vegas Hotel Casino

CineVegas 2008CineVegas 2008 Film Festival starts today at the Palms Las Vegas Hotel. This is the 10th year of the festival which runs until June 21, 2008 in Vegas.

The festival features near 90 films in nine days. Tonight the world premiere of “The Rocker” by Rainn Wilson at Brenden Theatres at the Palms Casino. Tom Hanks and Colin Hanks film “The Great Buck Howard” will premiere on June 21. Live questions and answers or tributes to Don Cheadle, Rosario Dawson, Viggo Mortensen, Sam Rockwell and Anjelica Huston.

OCEANS THIRTEEN Premiere Event For CineVegas Film Festival At Palms

Oceans ThirteenOCEANS THIRTEEN premiere red carpet event, for the ninth annual CineVegas Film Festival at the Palms Las Vegas real estate, kicked off the events on Wednesday evening. This premiere was a benefit for International Rescue Committee for Not on Our Watch, supporting humanitarian efforts in Darfur.

Brad Pitt spoke with reporters before Wednesday’s premiere of “Ocean’s Thirteen,” which kicked off the annual CineVegas film festival at the Palms hotel and casino.

CineVegas Announces Las Vegas Locals as Jury

CINEVEGAS FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES LAS VEGAS LOCALS AS MEMBERS OF SHORTS JURY

Las Vegas CineVegasLAS VEGAS – David Schmoeller, Jason Feinberg and Teller are the three Las Vegas locals who will be the sole members of the Shorts Jury for the CineVegas Film Festival and will decide who will be awarded the $1,000 cash prize for Best Short. In addition, a separate jury will decide who will be awarded the Grand Jury Award and $10,000 cash prize for Feature Film, marking the first time in its history that CineVegas will be awarding cash prizes to films.

David Schmoeller is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Film at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he is also founder and director of the UNLV Short Film Archive. Jason Feinberg is the newest addition to the Fox 5 morning news team and has just reached his 14th year in television news. Teller has been the smaller, quieter half of Penn & Teller since 1975. Their critically acclaimed stage show enjoys a full-time home at The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
