Celebrities scoop for charity 31st annual BEN & JERRY’s FREE cone day Tuesday, April 21, 2009. The Ben & Jerry’s ice cream locations in Henderson, NV will serve free ice cream cones to benefit the Nevada Community Learning Centers and Lied Discovery Children’s Museum.
Celebrity scoopers will assist Ben & Jerry’s, a company that likes to support its community, with its “Free Cone Day.â€Â Local celebrities have been confirmed and announcement of scoop times will be announced soon. They will dig in at both retail outlets to help raise money for local charities.
No purchase necessary for FREE small cones, but customers are invited to make a donation to the respective local charity. The Galleria Mall in Henderson, Nevada locations will benefit the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum and the ice cream store inside the District at Green Valley Ranch will benefit the Nevada Community Learning Centers.
The original “Free Cone Day†event was such a big success to congratulate the staff on their first anniversary and thank the community for their loyalty. Now 31 years later, Ben & Jerry’s continues the tradition around the globe to benefit local charities. They expect to scoop more than two million free cones of ice cream.
The entire line of flavors is available for the “Free Cone Day†event including Chubby Hubby, Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia. New Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavors will also debut during the celebration: Triple Caramel Chunk, Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road, Orange & Cream and Chocolate Macadamia.
Ben & Jerry’s ice cream shop at The Galleria Mall At Sunset is located at 1300 W. Sunset Road and The District at Green Valley Ranch location is adjacent to the Green Valley Ranch Casino.
