'Drug Czar' Kerlikowske Seen At Las Vegas PBS Ed. Technology Campus

‘Drug Czar’ R. Gil Kerlikowske was seen at the Las Vegas PBS Educational Technology Campus on April 21, 2010. Kerlikowske is Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy and he’s on a nationwide tour to meet with school administrators, health care workers, the community and law enforcement officials to put together a drug enforcement policy during this Las Vegas event.

Kerlikowske was invited Wednesday to tour the Vegas PBS Technology Campus by Senator Harry Reid. “I thank Gil for meeting with Nevada law enforcement and discussing his vision for addressing substance abuse in Nevada,” Reid said. “I look forward to partnering with him to ensure Nevada has the support it needs in its fight against drugs.”

R. Gil Kerlikowske was nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy. He was sworn in on May 7, 2009, as the Nation’s sixth “Drug Czar.” In his position, Mr. Kerlikowske coordinates all aspects of Federal drug control programs and implementation of the President’s National Drug Control Strategy.
