Hard Rock Las Vegas Hotel Obtains Gaming Control Board Gaming Support
Hard Rock Las Vegas NV hotel received Gaming Control Board Gaming license recommendation. The NV hotel owners can start collecting gaming revenues from their casino.
In Las Vegas casino news this week the state gaming board recommended giving jv partners Morgans Hotel Group, New York hotel operator, and DLJ Merchant Banking Partners a license to receive gaming revenue.
A January 24 hearing by the Gaming Commission will review the license application for approval. If approved, the new owners will finally see gaming income a year after ownership of the themed property. The gaming board see this application as favorable for the market.
DLJ and Morgans purchased the Las Vegas NV hotel casino for $770 million. They are currently in a $750 million double size renovation that will add 950 additional rooms.
Last year, Golden Gaming, locally based casino operator, has been leasing and operating the casino.
Hard Rock expects to keep all but one employee from Golden Gaming for continued casino operation.
The daily operations will be done by Morgans Hotel Group, while DLJ will manage the business from the corporation standpoint.
A customer tracking system from International Game Technology worth $1.5 million has been installed to keep track of players. They are hoping to lure more high end customers. Morgans also added over a customer database with over a million names from their database of luxury hotels in New York, Los Angeles, Scottsdale and London, England.
