SkyVue Las Vegas Completes 1st Phase Of Construction And Goes Vertical
SkyVue Las Vegas, iconic observation wheel, completes initial phase of construction and begins work on retail district as 12 semi-trucks arrived from Los Angeles via escorted convoy today transporting the massive steel support cables. Today I spoke with SkyVue Las Vegas and they discussed the construction process, SkyVue’s cables, retail center, incredible Las Vegas Strip views from the gondolas and expected real estate construction completion.
SkyVue Las Vegas First Phase Construciton Completion
Set to become the largest observation wheel in the Western Hemisphere, SkyVue’s cables will be the largest of their kind in the nation, capable of extending from Las Vegas to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge if stretched end to end.
Passersby can witness SkyVue’s vertical ascent as construction commences on the retail district. The multilevel shopping center will boast 140,000 square feet of retail space, a six-concept food court, entertainment options and prime frontage on Las Vegas Boulevard.
SkyVue, located directly across from Mandalay Bay located on the Las Vegas Strip, will forever change the landscape of America’s playground. The 500-foot iconic attraction will feature the world’s largest HD LED multimedia displays – each measuring larger than a football field – and 32 climate-controlled glass-walled gondolas.
Offering unparalleled views of the city skyline, the gondolas will be available for private and corporate events. Led by Howard Bulloch and David Gaffin of Compass Investments, the project will also include 20,000 square feet of convention space. SkyVue is slated to open Q4 2013. Photo credit: Bill Cody
