The ongoing success of the world-class venue can be credited to the stellar entertainers that grace the stage of The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and the distinctive artist residency model featuring the greatest entertainers in the world, including: Celine Dion, Elton John, Rod Stewart and Shania Twain (who begins her run on Dec. 1, 2012).

In 2011, The Colosseum at Caesars Palace was home to Cher’s sell-out run of the final shows of her three-year residency, (which culminated in February), along with the first year of 54 sold-out performances of Celine Dion’s triumphant return that began in March. In August, Rod Stewart kicked off the first two runs of sell-out performances of his two-year residency of Rod Stewart: The Hits. and in September Elton John returned for his second residency at The Colosseum with the premiere of his sold-out run of The Million Dollar Piano.

The Colosseum is booked and operated by AEG Live. “The past year has been very strong for The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. In addition to opening productions with the newest resident performers-Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Elton John- we also announced the addition of Shania Twain to the lineup which begins in December 2012,” said John Meglen, president and co-CEO of AEG Live/Concerts West. “This rotation along with presenting top-notch touring performers gives us the ability to offer an unforgettable entertainment experience to nearly every visitor to Las Vegas. Our ability to attract the biggest, most diverse group of international superstars is one of the reasons people love to visit The Colosseum.”

“Celine Dion had a triumphant return to The Colosseum, ushering in a whole new era of top-shelf entertainment for the venue and, frankly, the city of Las Vegas, “ added Gary Selesner, president of Caesars Palace. “Opening March 15, 2011, Celine’s first 20 shows grossed more than $14M, and we saw a ripple effect from those ticket sales by way of increased hotel revenue at Caesars Palace.”

Other entertainers who helped make The Colosseum at Caesars Palace a number-one venue in 2011 include Jerry Seinfeld, Luis Miguel, Jeff Dunham, Diana Ross, Leonard Cohen, Stevie Nicks, and Janet Jackson.
