Aria Las Vegas Resort Named As Project CityCenter’s Las Vegas Jewel

Project CityCenterAria Las Vegas resort named as Project CityCenter’s Las Vegas jewel of the $9.2 billion development on the Strip. MGM Mirage this week unveiled the name of the 4,004 room, 61 story high rise with two curved glass hotel towers.

Architectural company Pelli Clarke Pelli designed Aria’s 150,000 square foot casino area and the two hotel towers.

The developer is betting the resort will be totally unique unlike any of its predecessors.

Last week Project CityCenter Las Vegas had a topping off of the first hotel condo project named Vdara. During this time the previously unnamed hotel “Aria” was unveiled.

The current construction schedule has the hotel casino and residential offerings open in phases with Vdara opening in third quarter 2009. The final resort to open will be Aria Las Vegas, NV hotel.

The luxury hotels include Vdara, Harmon Hotel and the Mandarin Oriental. The entire CityCenter equals 18 million square feet and is the largest private development in the US. The residents and visitors can enjoy a 500,000 square feet of entertainment, retail and dining area named The Crystals.

Aria hotel will showcase a portion of the $40 million public arts program. Cirque du Soleil will have a show in the hotel based on Elvis Presley’s music.

The Las Vegas resort will need a way to move vehicles swiftly in and out of the resort. To help move cars from Aria and Vdara hotel will be the Harmon Circle. This raised roadway will connect Interstate I5 overpass and Harmon Avenue through the resort.
