Comedian Whoopi Goldberg celebrates her 55th birthday alongside her granddaughter Amarah, who is also celebrating her milestone 21st birthday at TAO Las Vegas on Saturday, November 13, 2010. They started the evening in TAO Bistro and then partied the evening with family in TAO Nightclub.

The celebrity matriarch held court at the head of the table in TAO’s private dining room, surrounded by family, including daughter Alexandrea, who is Amarah’s mother, and Whoopi’s brother Clyde.  After dining on signature dishes including Lobster Wontons and Crispy Rice the group serenaded the birthday girls, singing a round of “Happy Birthday” that started traditional and ended with 50 Cent’s “In Da Club (It’s Your Birthday)”.

They then made their way to the sky box in the club, taking in the sounds of the DJ before moving to a VIP table in the Opium Room for some hip hop with DJ Lisa Pittman. They were birthday shout outs and a birthday cake as Amarah reveled in the spotlight with her legendary and super cool grandma.

Grandmother, daughter and granddaughter then took to the dance floor where they danced until after 3 am. On their way out the ladies took TAO up on the offer of complimentary flip flops emblazoned with the Las Vegas institution’s slogan, “Always a Happy Ending.” Indeed it was as some of the ladies swapped their heels to make the trek back to their rooms.
