Ferengi And Klingon Says Qapla' To Star Trek The Experience In Vegas

Star Trek ExperienceFerengi and Klingon says Qapla’ to Star Trek The Experience in Vegas at the Las Vegas Hilton.  The Captain’s Log at The Experience will have its last entry on September 1, 2008.  I guess there’s no help for the Klingon.

For the past 11 years, both visitors and locals have enjoyed the exhibit and attraction.  This week 160 workers have been told their business is closing at warp speed.

August 6 – 10 at the Hilton will host The Official Star Trek Convention.  Weeks before The Experience closes will see an expected spike in attendance from fans around the globe.  This is the only science fiction theme attraction in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The news of the closure has set off a world wide renewal of interest in the one of a kind Star Trek Experience.

Two months ago, leaseholder Cedar Fair Ent. Co., didn’t continue a new lease with the current one expiring Dec. 31, at the Hilton.

The fork may not actually in it just yet.  There is a slight shimmer of light that it could pop up somewhere else.

Was it CBS, owner of the Star Trek name, Cedar Fair or the Hilton responsible for the closure?  Or could it be a more profitable use of the real estate for the Las Vegas hotel?

The Star Trek Museum and Quark’s Bar and Grill, a restaurant at Star Trek Experience will close their doors, too.

Trekkies bid farewell to the attraction, museum and restaurant.

The attraction says, “Beam Me Up Scottie” and exits Las Vegas at warp speed.
