Famed Broadway actress and singer Linda Eder, known for her award-winning role in “Jekyll and Hyde,” took to the stage in front of the signature Bavington Statue for the park’s first concert.

Eder looked festive wearing cranberry red Smith Center mittens while singing Broadway favorites and holiday classics including “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” Let It Snow” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” The Minnesota native remarked on the great cooler weather during the holidays and the many good times she has had in Las Vegas while guests looked on and enjoyed hot apple cider, frothy hot chocolate and other holiday treats.

“The Smith Center has changed the face of the arts in Las Vegas and Symphony Park can change the holidays,” said Myron Martin, president and CEO of The Smith Center. “It gives us a new way to celebrate great traditions and I hope this is the first of many concerts in the park. We are starting a new tradition tonight.”

Throughout December, The Smith Center will celebrate the holiday spirit with festive décor throughout the campus including a 23-foot traditional Christmas tree draped with 11,500 white lights in Symphony Park making for the perfect holiday photo opportunity.
