Palms Las Vegas real estate owners the Maloof brothers are hoping for success in Hollywood. The Maloofs have ventured into professional sports and gambled on real estate in Las Vegas at the Palms hotel.
The Maloof family invested about $700,000 to complete the horror movie “Feast,” which came from the Bravo TV series “Project Greenlight.” The reality show features aspiring directors screenwriters who make films with the help of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
“We were like the white knights,” said Phil Maloof, 39, the youngest of the brothers. “They were short. And so we pitched in and gave them enough to finish the last week.”
The Maloof family plans to cross-market the movie with its other properties in advance of the Oct. 17 DVD release. Kings Fans who attend the basketball games of the Sacramento Kings and the Sacramento Monarchs, owned by the Maloofs, may see a movie trailer on the Jumbotron.
The Palms Las Vegas real estate guests will receive the “Feast” DVD in their Las Vegas hotel rooms. Feasts soundtrack has Narwhal, a Maloof artist, who signed with the family label they created in connection with Interscope Records in 2004.
