VooDoo Skyline is the creative collaboration between Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, New Capital Ventures partners Joe Shortal and Jonathan Borchetta, and Stan Checketts, the creator of more than 200 amusement rides. The Las Vegas-based business is expected to bring an additional 35 to 40 jobs to the market.

“When developing VooDoo Skyline, we sought to create a one-of-a-kind, adrenaline-packed Vegas experience,” said Shortal. “The zip ride – which is different than a zip line – will appeal to guests of all ages, offering both daytime and nighttime center-Strip views at exhilarating speeds that will take your breath away.”

The one-minute and 10-second zip ride will takeoff from VooDoo Lounge, located atop Rio’s 50-story Masquerade tower, sending guests cascading more than 800 feet to the Ipanema tower and reaching speeds up to 33 miles per hour. VooDoo Skyline can accommodate up to two riders at one time and will have a unique feature, on the return trip guests will ride an additional 800 feet to the starting point facing backwards, a total ride of nearly one-third of a mile.

“Rio has always been known for having some of the best views in Vegas. Now thrill-seeking guests can enjoy the legendary views that VooDoo Steak and VooDoo Rooftop Nightclub are best known for – from an entirely new dimension,” said Kevin Donnelly, director of hotel operations, Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. “We’re excited to be offering this invigorating new view of Las Vegas.”

VooDoo Skyline will be 7 days a week, offering rides from noon to midnight.
