Eastside Cannery Las Vegas hotel opens Thursday for Labor Day crowds. Almost 1,100 casino employees have been working for weeks at the $250 million hotel casino. This is something that other casino owners have decided not to do in these hard economic times and falling credit market.
To take advantage of the crowds for Labor Day weekend in Las Vegas, NV festivities the Eastside Cannery will hold a grand opening at 8 p.m on Thursday. The owners hope local residents will visit because a road trip isn’t in their budget.
Nevada Palace hotel closed at the end of February this year. Approximately 250 casino workers are excited they continue the tradition of the family feel property with another 250 transfers from Rampart Casino and the North Las Vegas Cannery. The budget transformation is not the norm when new properties cost near $1 billion to build. Their projected opening date has been the same since the beginning of renovation.
The third largest gaming revenue in Nevada real estate is the Boulder Strip. It has been over a decade since Boulder Station hotel casino opened.
Eastside Cannery is neighboring Arizona Charlie’s Boulder, Sam’s Town, and several smaller operators along Boulder Highway south of I 95.
Crown Ltd., controlled by James Packer from Melbourne, Australia, is going through the regulatory process of being sold for $1.8 billion. Earlier Crown decided not to go forward with their Las Vegas Strip hotel.
