Las Vegas New Year’s Eve Party Events Planned For Downtown Las Vegas
Las Vegas New Year’s Eve party events announced by Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman for downtown Las Vegas real estate and the Strip.
Las Vegas New Year’s Eve in downtown and on the Las Vegas Strip is continuing its quest to be “America’s Party” and to rival New York Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration. New twists for the end of 2006 bash include an agreement with a satellite TV network to broadcast live 4 ½ hours from Fremont Street Experience.
“Vegas Royale 2007” will be this years Las Vegas theme. The annual spectacular fireworks show will be shot off at midnight to music from James Bond movies. The pyrotechnics will cost $450,000 and be shot off from seven Las Vegas casinos rooftops.
There will be less hotels this year participating in the bash, down three from last year, but the fireworks are expected to be even more spectacular .
Chief executive officer of Pyro Spectaculars said there will be a lot more of limes, lemons, oranges and purples comparing with the last time his company did the show, in 2004. Including in this fireworks event will be walls of fire.
About 300,000 tourists are expected in Las Vegas at the end of December. The economic impact is expected to be about $198.1 million, an increase of about 4 percent over last year.
The live music will be provided by Chicago, Five for Fighting, Smash Mouth, All-American Rejects, OK Go and Rock Star Supernova.
The Fremont Street Experience Downtown Las Vegas signed an agreement to have DirectTV broadcast live. The broadcast will begin from Fremont Street at 8 p.m. PST and will be aired on DirectTV channel 101, CD USA.
Tickets for admission to the pedestrian mall for downtown new year’s eve will be $80 per person.
