MGM Mirage Will Develop A Vegas Style Vietnam Casino In $4.2B Resort

Project CityCenter Las VegasMGM Mirage will develop a Las Vegas style Vietnam casino in a $4.2 billion resort.  The gaming operator will be working with the Asian Coast Development for its most recent business partnership for a MGM Grand hotel casino within the Ho Tram Strip.

The luxury hotel casino in the Asian Coast’s Ho Tram Strip resort and contain an entertainment complex, restaurants, 1,100 rooms, meeting space and gaming with an expected completion in 2011.

Financing of the Vietnam hotel will be handled by Asian Coast Development Ltd. and the operations, hotel brand and development will be controlled by MGM Mirage.

About 80 miles from Ho Chi Minh City is the Ho Tram Strip that was previously named Saigon.

The venture is just one day after President Jim Murren of MGM Mirage said in a conference they needed to improve their liquidity.  Funds in the range of $300 million could be raised from undeveloped Las Vegas Strip real estate and in the Nevada.  Murren is the incoming CEO and chairman pending approval of the board of directors.

MGM Grand resort site has already broken ground by the Asian Coast Development and surrounded by a Greg Norman 18 hole designed championship golf course.
