Moulin Rouge Las Vegas hotel receives jv partner for $700 million investment.
Moulin Rouge Development Corp. and Republic Urban Properties LLC will redevelop the 15 acres of the defunct casino on Martin Luther King and Bonanza Road.
The investment firm of Washington, D.C., will attempt to breathe new life into a hotel casino on the 53 year old site. The partners are scheduled on February 28, to see the Las Vegas Planning Commission for this commercial endeavor.
The first phase of construction will include 50,000 square feet of restaurants, concert venue, poolside nightclub, spa facilities and retail. The hotel will offer 700 rooms.
The tower sign and façade will be the only two remains of the new casino property.
The Moulin Rouge is in the part of downtown real estate that includes vacant lots, closed businesses and remains of an extended stay hotel.
A previous real estate commercial project by Republic Urban includes a Washington, D.C. Mandarin Oriental, 400 room luxury hotel.
At completion, the property will have a 72,600 square foot casino and 1,727 Las Vegas hotel rooms.
