EliteXC Mixed Martial Arts Fight Card Airs Saturday On CBS TV Network
EliteXC mixed martial arts fight card airs Saturday on CBS TV network. Saturday will be network television’s debut of mma.
The Saturday EliteXC fight card will be broadcast on CBS from Newark, N.J. at 9 p.m. Easter and delayed three hours for the west coast.
CBS is ready to get in the ring and battle for the quick growing popularity of the Ultimate Fighting Championship in exchange for a portion of the hundreds of millions of dollars the sport is garnering. The national TV network said it is prudent at this time to air what viewers want.
Mauro Ranallo, Gus Johnson and Frank Shamrock will prove the EliteXC mma fight commentary.
You’ll have heard Johnson previously during CBS’ NCAA Tournament coverage. Shamrock has provided commentary for Strikforce card last September.
Most live events on network television have a delay to guard against something similar to Janet Jackson’s clothing malfunction during the Super Bowl. CBS mixed martial arts weekly will employ a 10 second delay to guard against foul language or the unexpected.
There will be mixed martial arts women on Saturday with Kaitlin Young and Las Vegas Gina Carano.
The Saturday fight card for EliteXC will feature the main event with James Thompson and Kimbo Slice and Robbie Lawler against Scott Smith.
