On display will be a series of fashion films and photographs featuring her designs and newly crafted dresses as they are completed. Visitors are invited to help the artist “crinkle” a continuous ruffle length created using double stick tape and tissue paper that will become a voluminous finale gown for a fashion show on April 18th.

Jennifer Henry began creating these unusual garments that she has dubbed “alternative material couture” under the brand name Flockflockflock in November 2009. Since then she has created more than 200 unique handmade designs using only tape, paper, cellophane or other non-traditional elements.

Jennifer’s patrons include: Bravo TV, TLC Sister Wives, Wendoh Media, Greenspun Media Group, Charmin/Ripley’s Believe It or Not Times Square and a wide variety of charities including: Fashion’s Night Out, Make-A-Wish, March of Dimes, St. Baldrick’s, ARTrageous Vegas, The LGBT Center of Las Vegas, ActionRED, Opportunity Village, Circus Couture, The Smith Center and Springs Preserve.

Jennifer’s other work includes collages featuring reoccurring images of “Lola” a 1930s baby doll. These fine art works have been shown at C POP in Detroit, Michigan, as well as Trifecta Gallery, The Avant Arts Collective, The Fallout Gallery and The Funk House in Las Vegas.

The artist-in-residence program at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas represents one component of its larger art program, in which artists create projects that are interactive and participatory, giving guests the opportunity to connect at an authentic and personal level. Developed and curated in partnership with Art Production Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to producing ambitious public art projects, it strives to reach new audiences and expand awareness through contemporary art.
