McCarran International Airport Las Vegas Passenger Rise in April 2007
McCarran International Airport Las Vegas had more than 3.9 million passengers during April. The total Las Vegas airport passengers increased 3.2 percent over last year for a total of 15.2 million for the year.
Passenger traffic had a small growth of less than 1 percent in April. The international traffic had seen the most increase in and out of Las Vegas Nevada real estate.
The largest airline of the airport, Southwest Airlines, had 1.3 million passengers, less than a one percent month increase. Their year to date passenger increase was 1.6 percent over the same time last year for 5 million Las Vegas passengers.
The Las Vegas winner of passengers was Delta Air Lines with a 10 percent increase over April 2006. Delta Air Lines recently came out of bankruptcy. The five top carriers at McCarran had either a declining or steady traffic.
There were 191,000 passengers flying in and out of foreign countries. This was an increase of almost 13 percent in April.
Mexicana and Air Canada, two of McCarran’s biggest foreign carriers had an increase of 10 percent for the month. For the year Mexicana is up 3.4 percent and Air Canada is up 11.5 percent over 2006.
The McCarran International terminal two has had 712,000 passengers year to date. This is up 10 percent from the same point of 2006. The traffic in 2006 at the same point was 647,000.
The Las Vegas Allegiant Airlines specializing in bringing small town tourists from across America, brought 143,000 happy people and gamblers, a 31 percent increase in April, through McCarran International Airport.
