McCarran International Airport Las Vegas Passenger Rise In May 2007

The month of May had an increase in traffic of four percent above the 2006 figures. The total amount of McCarran Las Vegas passengers to date has been 19.5 million.

Both low fare domestic airlines and international airlines had a rise in McCarran International traffic. Continental and Delta Airlines had good traffic.

During this time of year leisure travel is creating a strong demand for Las Vegas, Nevada. Tourist based carriers show the increased numbers.

Spirit Airlines, a low cost airline, had 54,000 passenger for the month of May through McCarran. That is a 399 percent increase over May 2006.

Allegiant Air, Las Vegas real estate based, had a 36 percent increase of 137,000 passengers during May.

Terminal two of the international traffic had 200,000 passengers or 27 percent increase for the month. Scheduled service through May has had 911,000 passengers an increase of more than 13 percent. International traffic has seen a strong gain.

The second largest carrier, US Airways, had an increase of 11 percent. The biggest carrier in Las Vegas is Southwest, had a small four percent increase from May, 2006.

Delta had an increase of 10 percent and United, a top five carrier at McCarran, had a decrease of two percent. Continental had a 7.5 percent increase.
