Once again, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas set the stage for an amazing mash-up of unique nightlife, daylife and concert experiences over Memorial Day Weekend. Young The Giant and Childish Gambino performed at The Boulevard Pool were just a few of the performances during this holiday weekend lineup.
Young The Giant - Cough Syrup
Perched high above Las Vegas Boulevard, concert-goers experienced exciting live music from Young The Giant on Saturday, May 26, as they owned the stage at the Boulevard Pool. Fresh off of a Today Show appearance, the indie sensations performed hits including “Cough Syrup,” recently featured on Glee, “Apartment” and “My Body.”
Formerly known as The Jakes, Young the Giant is comprised of singer Sameer Gadhia, guitarist Jacob Tilley, bassist Payam Doostzadeh, guitarist Eric Cannata and drummer François Comtois.
Last night (Sunday, May 27), Childish Gambino reigned over the crowd at the Boulevard Pool. The hip-hop mastermind threw himself into the performance with numbers such as “Heartbeat,” “Firefly” and “Bonfire” and sampled Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.”
Donald Glover, known by his stage name Childish Gambino, has had success with his reoccurring role on NBC’s Community and as a television writer for 30 Rock. In 2011, he debuted his first studio album, Camp, to rave reviews, which shows his music career has no signs of slowing down.
Casino floor hot-spot Book & Stage featured rising star and Washington, D.C.,-raised singer, pianist and guitarist Eric Hutchinson Friday, May 25 – Sunday, May 27, while DJ Mia Moretti & Caitlin Moe, named together as PAPER Magazine’s DJ of the Year, rocked The Chandelier Saturday and Sunday, May 26 – 27.
Meanwhile, Memorial Day Weekend at Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub blasted off with “United,” featuring special guests Benny Benassi, Cedric Gervais, Chuckie, Fedde Le Grand and an electrifying performance by America’s #1 DJ Kaskade who brought his nationwide “Freaks Of Nature” tour presented by Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub to a sold-out crowd at The Chelsea on Saturday, May 26.
Next up at the Boulevard Pool is TROPFEST, the world’s largest short film festival, featuring Delta Spirit on Saturday, June 2 and LP on Sunday, June 3 in addition to a star-studded red carpet and All-Star Screening Competition featuring 16 short films on Sunday, June 3.
