Valentine's Day Dining Specials & Prix Fixe Menus For The Special Day

As Valentine’s Day approaches, here is a round-up of specials and prix fixe menus offered by various Las Vegas restaurants in celebration of the holiday.

Chocolate & Spice on West Sahara

The dessert destination will feature Chef Megan Romano’s hand-crafted specials including sweets available for pre order such as “Strawberries and Champagne” ($20), three large Dark Chocolate Champagne Truffles and three Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries wrapped in a gift box (6 for $12, 12 for $22, 18 for $32, 24 for $44).

Other Valentine’s Day bakery specials include the Decadent Dark Chocolate Raspberry Torte ($25), a rich chocolate cake layered with chocolate ganache and raspberry preserve then lightly coated in chocolate glaze, Chocolate Brownie Heart with cream cheese frosting ($5), Raspberry Macaroons with a chocolate ganache filling (5 for $10), Raspberry Cheesecake with Dark Chocolate Crust ($7), Raspberry Almond Linzer and Heart Shaped Sugar Cookies ($3 each) and Valentine’s Cupcakes ($3.75 each).

For those preparing for a romantic dinner for two, Romano will guide guests through a Valentine’s Day Cooking Class on Tuesday, January 29 from 6 pm—7 pm at Chocolate & Spice Bakery. The $75 per person class includes a take home gift, small bites and refreshments as well as Romano’s professional tips and tricks. She personally instructs preparation and cooking techniques for a Raspberry Mint Spritzer, Chocolate & Spice’s signature Roasted Chicken Pot Pie for two and Decadent Chocolate Raspberry Torte for two.

Due Forni serves up a Valentine’s Day $60 prix fixe menu for two. The feast includes Stracciatella Al Forno with roasted cherry tomatoes, basil pesto and house made bread, heart-shaped lobster Ravioli served with butter sauce, Pizza Bresaola with thinly sliced cured tenderloin, creamy casatica, red onions and fresh spinach and Dolci Cannoli filled with Valhrona chocolate and strawberries and topped with toasted almonds.

Hussong’s Cantina & Taqueria at Mandalay Place

Hussong’s will offer a $35 four course dinner that includes starters of Vegetable Soup and Turkey Lettuce Wraps, an entrée of Almond Tequila Sea Bass with roasted red potatoes, almond and tequila sauce, Swiss chard and avocado and Buñuelos y Cocados, a thin fried tortilla with cinnamon and sugar and sweet coconut flakes, to round out the experience.

LAVO offers a sophisticated setting to enjoy dinner for two highlighted by special menu items including Mediterranean King Crab Salad ($22) with roasted beets, mache, citrus, Rose Petal Shaped Pasta ($28) with shrimp, asparagus tips, black truffles and a 6 oz Kobe Filet Mignon & Baked Langostino ($65). For dessert, the Italian eatery serves up a Valrhona Chocolate Parfait ($14) with preserved raspberries.

Serving fresh and easy Italian fare, Slice of Vegas presents a $40, four course dining experience. Kick the meal off with Tomato Bisque Soup and Ensalata, a spring mix with candied nuts, pomegranates and bleu cheese topped with a pomegranate vinaigrette. Mare E Terra will serve as the entrée, consisting of a filet, shrimp, roasted garlic and basil mashed potatoes, asparagus and tarragon zabaglione. End the night on a sweet note with assorted Petit Fours with caramel sauce and candied strawberries.

Recognized as one of Las Vegas’ sexiest restaurants, Strip House’s décor alone—with its cherry red walls and hints of old-world glamour—will provide the perfect setting for a romantic night on the town. Guests can start their meal with Kataifi Wrapped Crisp Shrimp ($21) with chopped avocado, cucumber and flying fish roe or Bufala Mozzarella and Braised Artichoke Salad ($19) topped with a sun dried tomato vinaigrette and artichoke chips.

Entrees include Surf and Turf ($58), 8 oz filet mignon and broiled lobster or a 14 oz Bone-In Filet ($54). Complete the feast with Warm Red Berry Cake ($10), with roasted strawberries and raspberries, perfectly paired with white chocolate ice cream.

TAO Asian Bistro at The Venetian

TAO presents a $55 per person Valentine’s Day prix fixe menu, perfect for enjoying under the watch of the restaurant’s iconic 20-foot Buddha. First course selections include Chilled Shibumi Oysters, a trio of Shibumi oysters served with blood orange mignonette, pickled fresh turmeric, and ginger flowers or Lobster Risotto, a shellfish risotto, “salt & pepper” stir fried Maine lobster and crustace sauce. Main course gives the option of Dry Aged Prime Sirloin with Maitake mushrooms, Japanese potato, roasted chestnuts & caramelized pearl onions or Day Boat Black Bass with roasted baby artichokes, golden beets, shiso lime vinaigrette.
