The funnyman Wayne Brady celebrated his 40th birthday in style yesterday, Saturday, June 2 at The Mirage Hotel & Casino. In town performing his show “Making it Up” as part of the “Aces of Comedy” series, Brady spent the weekend celebrating with friends, family and fans.
Yesterday morning, the entertainer spent a few hours at Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. With rising temperatures, the birthday boy donned a full wetsuit and participated in the “Trainer for a Day” program.
With the help of Maverick, one of the male dolphins at the facility, Brady learned how to properly feed the dolphins, pet them and play with them using positive reinforcement tactics. After completing the program, he took pictures with a few fans and thanked them for the birthday wishes.
That evening, Brady performed to a sold out audience at the Terry Fator Theatre. Celebrity friends in attendance included Drew Carey from “The Price is Right” and Terry Fator, along with wife, Taylor Makakoa, among other friends and family members. After the show, Brady took a few moments to celebrate backstage with his family, popping a bottle of champagne and toasting to another great 40 years.
Brady tweeted “Killed it at the Mirage … I party like someone who’s turning 100 in 60 yrs!” To officially celebrate his birthday, Brady headed to 1 OAK Las Vegas!
After posing for photographers on the red carpet, he entered the Las Vegas hot spot where over 40 friends and family members greeted him. Brady went around his VIP table greeting and hugging each guest including Sinbad, Drew Carey, Joey Fatone and Jonathan Mangum, among others.
Before long, the funnyman was dancing to the beats of DJ IKON which included remixes of “Empire State of Mind” by Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys, “International Love” by Pitbull featuring Chris Brown and “We Found Love” by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris, among others. Shortly before 2 a.m., the birthday boy was surprised with a blue and silver three-tier cake that donned edible musical notes.
After a shout out from DJ IKON, Brady blew out the candles and continued partying into the early morning hours.
