World's Largest Hotel In Las Vegas Seeks Permit For 6,745 Hotel Rooms

Edge Las VegasWorld’s largest hotel in Las Vegas, NV seeks permit for 6,745 luxury hotel rooms.  A cash strapped Israel based real estate developer wants to build the largest hotel in the world.

Recently the formerly known company as Africa Israel Group, AFI Group, asked the Clark County commissioners for permits to develop the largest hotel, casino and 1,000,000 square feet retail complex adjacent to Hard Rock Hotel.   The W Las Vegas hotel was planned for that real estate as well as Las Ramblas.

The land was sold last May for $751.3 million for 10 percent or $75.1 million controlling interest to developer Alex Sapir.

The request is definitely polar opposite to what many developers are doing and fighting an uphill battle in the current credit markets.  Many are realizing in the current credit market environment they can’t cover the cost of investment.

Permits from Las Vegas would allow construction to begin in two years or request additional time.  Approvals would allow AFI Group to seek financing from banks and investors.

The First World Hotel in Malaysia is the current largest hotel in the world with 6,118 rooms.  Other largest hotels in world reside in Las Vegas including MGM Grand with 5,690 rooms, Luxor hotel with 4,408 rooms and Mandalay Bay and The Hotel with 4,341 rooms.

The largest hotel is coined as Edge Las Vegas and will be constructed in three phases.
