Golden Nugget HotelGolden Nugget Downtown Las Vegas hotel adds a $121 million third tower.  Construction is progressing for the 25 story downtown tower with reinforcing pillars that will support the lower levels of the hotel casino.  The multi use space will include a pool deck, gaming, walk up retail and 524 additional luxury rooms.

Penta Building Group is the general contractor for the Golden Nugget hotel casino.  Expected construction completion is set for the end of 2009.

The new tower will house retail and the Chart House restaurant.  The Chart House will include a 7,000 gallon salt water aquarium with a custom reef and exotic fish in its 3,000 square foot space.  The lobby will have slot machines and several stores.

The current swimming pool will connect with another pool at level two.  Customers will walk from the new tower onto the upper deck of the current live shark aquarium.  Parking will be located on floors 2 through 4.  Remaining floors 5 through 24 will supply 524 luxury guest rooms.

The downtown Las Vegas hotel is currently owned by Landry’s Restaurants Inc., which will become private by founder, president, chairman and CEO Tilman Fertitta.  A payment of $1.3 billion through Fertitta Holdings will purchase 61 percent of the company he doesn’t control.
