UFC Ultimate Fighting Championship Has Competition WFA

World Fighting Alliance WFAUFC Ultimate Fighting Championship is the world’s best-known mixed martial arts organization, but now has competition of the WFA World Fighting Alliance. The UFC no longer has a stranglehold on the best fighters.

The WFA World Fighting Alliance, co-owned by Las Vegas attorneys Louis Palazzo and Ross Goodman, will host a pay-per-view card July 22 from the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles that features several fighters who have defeated the UFC Ultimate Fight Challenge best.

Goodman, the son of Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, said the WFA World Fighting Alliance plans to be a direct competitor with the UFC, an organization so popular that its May 27 pay-per-view show reportedly sold more than 600,000 subscriptions.

Anything built on or around the Las Vegas Strip is going to sell for $1,300 to $1,500 a square foot, some Las Vegas luxury real estate, said David Pourbaba, president of Sky Condos Las Vegas, which recently topped out construction of its 45-story condominium tower next to Circus Circus.

UFC 61 Ultimate Fighting Challenge Bitter Rivals Ortiz and ShamrockUltimate Fighting Challenge Tito Ortiz wins victory over Ken Shamrock of UFC 61 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Almost a minute into arguably the most anticipated matchup of the evening, the Ultimate Fighting Challenge bout between Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock was stopped by referee Herb Dean, causing the fans at the Mandalay Bay Las Vegas Event Center to pelt the ring with debris.

The two fighters refused to touch gloves beforehand. Shamrock went on the immediate attack. At the 4:30 mark, Tito Ortiz took Ken Shamrock down hard to the mat, his trademark ground-and-pound technique in full effect, where the fight would and the fight ended in controversy shortly thereafter.

With Wynn Macau’s opening just two months away, holding company Wynn Resorts Ltd. has discovered recruiting and training workers is not so different in China than it is at Wynn Las Vegas. Although, cultural differences pose major challenges for Wynn Resort Casino and any other gaming companies planning to operate in Macau.
