Mandalay Bay the biggest gaming player believes demand will continue for luxury Las Vegas condominiums with a Las Vegas Boulevard address.

MGM Mirage is seeking initial county approval this week for two Las Vegas high-rise condo real estate projects that would add some 2,500 condominiums to the south end of the Strip.

The company has not formally announced either proposal, and a spokesman said their likely development dates remain undetermined. But documents filed with Clark County provide architectural renderings and details of both projects.

Great Mall Of Las VegasGreat Mall of Las Vegas with Las Vegas condos, 1.6 million-square-foot, planned for the Centennial Hills area in northwest Las Vegas is designed as a “hybrid” mall with both outdoor and indoor retail components, architect Howard Perlman said.

The indoor portion is three stories, with anchor tenants at each end and three levels of shops, all in an air-conditioned environment for hard-core shoppers who easily spend eight hours in a mall, he said.

The outdoor “lifestyle” component is similar to The District at Green Valley Ranch, developed by American Nevada Co., Perlman said. It will have a mix of entertainment and retail with 900 Las Vegas condominium units on top. Maximum height for the two Las Vegas condo towers is 200 feet.

The Bureau Of Land Management Sells 27 Acres Over $11 Million

The Bureau Land Management of NevadaThe Bureau of Land Management (BLM) held its 20th, August 2nd, land sale since the creation of the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act. The Bureau of Land Management sold 27 acres of land in nine parcels receiving just over $11 million.

Revenues from the Bureau of Land Management sale remain in Nevada and are used for parks and trails, capital improvements and the purchase of other environmentally sensitive land, parks, trails and natural areas; capital improvements; conservation initiatives; purchase of environmentally sensitive lands and Lake Tahoe restoration projects. Additionally, 10 percent of the funds raised will go to the Southern Nevada Water Authority and 5 percent will go to the Nevada State General Education Fund.

Parcels of land for sale in Nevada varied in size from 1.25 acres to 45.625 acres.
