Las Vegas Best City To Conduct Business
Tuesday, July 4th, 2006
Las Vegas ranked best place to conduct business and least expensive major city in a new survey on the cost of doing business in the United States. The Kosmont-Rose Institute 2006 Cost of Doing Business Survey ranked Cheyenne, Wyoming as the cheapest city and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as the most expensive.
The survey ranks each city according to the cost of six taxes — on business itself, on property, on telephone, on sales, utility and electric taxes and corporate income taxes. Then a rate comparison, which compares the cities, are then ranked into one of five categories from most expensive to least expensive.
The most expensive business locations included San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. Other large cities that were rated least expensive included Dallas, Houston, Fort Worth, and Denver.
