The Mirage Hotel & Casino will welcome Emmy Award-winning actor and master of slapstick comedy Martin Short to the Terry Fator Theatre as he makes his Aces of Comedy debut June 29 – 30. Short, who has appeared on the small screen, in feature films and on Broadway, is widely known for his comedic, sidekick roles such as the character “Franck” in Steve Martin’s “Father of the Bride” series.

Michael Plourde has been appointed the new pastry chef of Botero, the sophisticated steakhouse located at Encore. This new position reunites Plourde with executive chef Mark LoRusso, with whom he worked alongside at Tableau at Wynn Las Vegas’ exclusive Mobil Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond Tower Suites.

Celine Dion received good news last week during her follow-up examination with Professor Gerald Berke at the UCLA Medical Clinic. The rest that Professor Berke prescribed allowed Celine’s vocal chords to recover from their weakened state and it is expected that she’ll be back to 100% within four weeks time.
