Eastside Cannery Las Vegas hotel opens Thursday for Labor Day crowds.  Almost 1,100 casino employees have been working for weeks at the $250 million hotel casino.  This is something that other casino owners have decided not to do in these hard economic times and falling credit market.

To take advantage of the crowds for Labor Day weekend in Las Vegas, NV festivities the Eastside Cannery will hold a grand opening at 8 p.m on Thursday.  The owners hope local residents will visit because a road trip isn’t in their budget.

Miss HOOTERS Girls International 2008 crowned Sara Hoots winner from San Antonio, Texas.  Sara has been a Hooters Girl in Selma, Texas.  As winner of the 12th Annual Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant she received $50,000 in prize money.  The beauty pageant and swimsuit competition brought together 128 Hooters Girl contestants from 446 Hooters restaurants around the globe crowning Hoots the best of competition.

Golden Nugget Downtown Las Vegas hotel adds a $121 million third tower.  Construction is progressing for the 25 story downtown tower with reinforcing pillars that will support the lower levels of the hotel casino.  The multi use space will include a pool deck, gaming, walk up retail and 524 additional luxury rooms.
